Ronkat Spearman strikes once again with his latest single called: “No Driver”. The talented musician recently dropped the psychedelic and entertaining music video on June 7th, 2024. “No Driver” feels and brings the 80’s energy, yet it stays fresh and generates a unique soundscape of independent rock. Somewhere in between New Order, David Bowie, Prince, and Parliament Funkadelic, “No Driver” manages to stay original, wild, captivating, unique, and proves to create a ferocious planet of its own.

It is important to note that “No Driver” is not only a musical attraction but a lyrically interesting statement about the driverless cars in San Francisco. Inspired and influenced by the autonomous, robotic, and self-driving cars, “No Driver” is definitely one of a kind. “Look into your rear view, look what’s up ahead, the car without a driver, drive you through your bed”, is one of Ronkat’s most entrancing lines throughout the energetic musical composition. The track’s gripping and alluring story is brought to life through a mixture of simple but effective narration, scenic imagery, and prominent musical exhibition.

“No Driver” is written, composed, performed, and produced by Spearman himself. The track consists of a diverse range of styles, innovative effects, and distinctive sounds which might just drive the listeners into the unknown streets of Frisco. Spearman successfully and brilliantly fuses rock and 1980’s African American dance music. The drums quickly hit the gas on this track as they are continuous, incessant, and insanely hypnotizing. The guitar is extremely seductive, distorted, groovy, and most importantly: danceable. Similar to Bernard Sumner and Michael Ronson, Ronkat’s guitar playing is not only glamorous but also sophisticated. Towards the end of the track, the funky side of the guitar begins appearing and delivers a funkadelic and boogielicious sensation. The neat and dandy bass rides along nicely with the driverless vehicle. The four stringed gadget fills in the sound, ultimately cements the song, and reinforces muscle throughout the celebrating charged anthem.The vocals ultimately bring a face to the track’s pleasurable and entertaining sound. Ronkat’s unforgettable and distinctive voice delivers a set of significantly low notes. Like Ian Curtis and Sumner, Spearman possesses the technical ability as a vocalist to hit the low-key notes and deliver a high quality tone. Without a doubt, even Sumner could have definitely been featured on this superior track. Ronkat’s “No Driver” simply sounds like a late night poppin’ party at one of the wildest bars in town where everyone dances 80’s music until the sunrise hits.

Ronkat Spearman continues to sculpt out his differentiating and unique space in the independent rock scene. “No Driver” stands as a testament to his ability to intermingle musical success with a refreshing and exuberant touch.
